Opening July 17, Stoller looks to provide a digitally enhanced winery experience

Stoller Experience CenterJune 19, 2020, Dayton, OR – Stoller Family Estate is launching a new take on the traditional tasting room experience. Opening to the public on July 17, the Stoller Experience Center makes learning about winemaking and the vineyard more accessible with emerging technologies. In the new state-of-the-art building, guests can engage with augmented reality, interactive tasting tables, and a 136 square foot immersive display. Additionally, a virtual reality experience will be available later this summer.

“There’s nothing like this out there with the diversity of technology throughout the space,” said Gary Mortensen, president of the Stoller Wine Group. “It’s a new take on the wine education experience with visually engaging storytelling about our vines, wines, history, and team. People want to connect and be left with a memorable experience. We wanted to pull on that thread by using emerging technologies to draw in what’s happening in the vineyard and cellar without physically being there.”

Stoller is well-known for its inclusive hospitality that encourages a comfortable and educational experience. This philosophy has led Stoller to be named Oregon’s Most Admired Winery by the Portland Business Journal for five consecutive years and a 10Best Tasting Rooms by USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice poll in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Stoller’s continued thought leadership was the catalyst to evolve the idea of what tasting in wine country could be.

“When we started this project, we wanted to diversify what people can do at our estate. The Experience Center is a way for people to interact and learn at their own pace in an immersive way,” said Owner and Founder, Bill Stoller. “We will continue to operate our existing Tasting Room, which will allow guests to pick the experience they want to have when making their reservation.”

Nestled among the vines on three side of the building, the Experience Center – with an open floor plan and expansive outdoor patio – mimics the clean look and feel of the Tasting Room while tying in the farm’s history with the adjacent historic grain silo and panoramic vineyard views. The 8,000 square foot building has two private conference rooms that can each seat 18 people or expand into one large room. Those who wish to enjoy the new Experience Center but not engage with the technology can still enjoy a standard tasting located in a truly immersive vineyard setting.

Open by reservation only, guests can enjoy a wine flight for $20. The tasting fee is waived with a two-bottle purchase or club membership. Sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie boards, or à la carte items are available to purchase and enjoy while tasting.
