Brings Wine Community Together During Evacuation Efforts

Proceeds from Event to Support Sonoma Fires and Event Partners

SAN FRANCISCO (December 4, 2019) – Emily Martin, founder of Emily Martin Communications & Events (EME) and The JetSetting Fashionista announced today that the First Annual Pinots & Plaid event, held October 26, during the North Bay fires, was a resounding success and a true expression of community spirit amid crisis.  Given the circumstances, a decision was reached to add a portion of ticket and raffle proceeds to the Sonoma Fires and  those impacted by the Kincade Fire as well as original event partners Meals on Wheels SF and Mission Graduates

When fires broke out just days before the highly anticipated event featuring 25 leading Pinot Noir producers from Northern California, it was not clear whether many of the producers would be able to make it to pour their own wines for the hundreds of wine lovers, foodies and luxury connoisseurs expected to attend the historic, stunningly restored, Hibernia Bank Building in San Francisco for the event.

Nonetheless, with a lot of commitment and a few ingenious decisions, including sending wine via UBER to the event, the majority of the wineries managed to be represented as hoped.  A special thank you was given to premium brands that participated despite all odds, including Anthill Farms WineryBlue Farm, Bucher CIRQClarice Wine Co.Cobb Wines, CopainCoursey GravesDomaine Anderson, DunstanDutton GoldfieldFreeman Vineyard & WineryGary FarrellHyde EstateKutchLando, Maggy Hawk, Peay Vineyards, Red CarReeveRoederer EstateSangiacomo VineyardsSojourn Cellars, Stewart Cellars, Texture WineThree SticksWilliams Selyem and Works & Days.

“This event was initially an opportunity to showcase the best of Northern California’s Pinot Noir Wines and surely did not disappoint,” said Martin. “It was incredible to see the community throughout the Russian River Valley, Anderson Valley, Sonoma County and Napa County come together in this way, especially during such a poignant moment for the industry.
