Bouchaine Vineyards Offers Monthly Wine & Chocolate Program

September 30, 2019, Napa, CA – Bouchaine Vineyards will begin a monthly program of hands-on wine and chocolate tasting classes beginning on October 13, 2019.

The classes will be conducted by Wendy Sherwood, owner of La Foret Chocolate and Confections, and will feature monthly themes, listed below. Each program commences on select Sunday mornings beginning at 10:30am, concluding at 1:00pm, and will feature an in-depth wine and chocolate pairing.

Prior to opening La Foret in Napa, Sherwood trained at Le Condon Bleu Paris and honed her craft at some of the industry’s top establishments including Patrick Roger and M.O.F. in France, and most recently, The French Laundry in Yountville, California. In 2005, Wendy received the prestigious Julia Child Endowment Fund Scholarship from the International Association of Culinary Professionals.

Classes scheduled through end of the year include:

October 13 – Wine to Bean to Bar
Select, roast, and blend chocolate from raw cacao beans with Chef Wendy and become acquainted with the texture, flavor, and aromatic differences of Bouchaine’s pinot noir clones. As with wine, so too with chocolate, learn how subtle changes in climate and terroir effect flavor.

November 17 – Wine And Chocolates for the Thanksgiving Table
Prepare for Thanksgiving with seasonal chocolates, confections, and wines primed for the holiday meal. Chef Wendy will help everyone make a box of chocolates and confections to take home along with an overview of perfect wine pairings for the holiday festivities.

December 15 – Boutique Wines and the Chocolate Holiday Tree
Chef Wendy will demonstrate the step-by-step techniques behind her show-stopping almond rocher evergreen tree with chocolate ornaments. Bouchaine will uncork bubbles and an allocated small lot of whites and reds to celebrate the joys of the holidays. Guests will craft a tree to take home.
