SONOMA, CA (August 13, 2019) Don Sebastiani & Sons today announced it is promoting Cynthia Gomez to the position of Vice President of Marketing, effective immediately.
Cynthia Gomez joined Don Sebastiani & Sons in April 2017 as Director of Marketing. Since that time, she has focused on growing the ‘big bet’ brands of the portfolio. She rebranded and repositioned the B Side brand to incorporate a new North Coast appellation and a line extension with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir added to the existing Cabernet Sauvignon bottling. She has also been instrumental in the rebirth and focus on darling Don Sebastiani and Sons brands, Simple Life and The Crusher, which both are seeing double digit growth in the past 12 months. Ms. Gomez is also leading the charge and lending her creative spirit building a robust private label program by launching several successful wine brands in many of the US top national accounts. In addition to her efforts in the wine portfolio of Don Sebastiani & Sons, Ms. Gomez is betting big on the company’s spirits portfolio taking large advances with their high-end tequilas and soon coming to market with several, creative ‘on-the-go’ cocktails.
“We are thrilled to see Cynthia thrive in her career here at Don Sebastiani & Sons,” said President, Donny Sebastiani. “It is important to our family to strive to promote from within and we are lucky to have such a team of bright and energetic employees. Cynthia has been an exceptional member of our team and our brands are seeing strong growth, sales and are positioned for success – much of this is due to Cynthia’s keen Marketing eye and strategic rationale,” he added.
Ms. Gomez previously worked in Marketing roles for Trinchero Family Estates as well as Treasury Wine Estates. Since joining Don Sebastiani & Sons in 2017, she has been pivotal in creating a strong Marketing direction for Don Sebastiani & Sons. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Wine Business from California State University, Sonoma, as well as a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
