Sonoma County, Calif. (June 18, 2019) — Purple Wine + Spirits is excited to announce they will transition their wine bottling operations from Graton to their winery in American Canyon. Purple currently bottles three million cases annually out of the Graton facility. Eric Gilliland, Purple’s Vice President of Operations, states “Our American Canyon winery is our most efficient, grape-to-bottle facility. Positioning our hub winery in American Canyon also gives us an improved logistic footprint within our supply chain, whether it be closer to our custom crush and bottling clients or to our dry goods suppliers. These changes are not only a win for us in terms of reducing our operational expenses, but also a win for our clients who pay transportation costs, our dry goods partners, and the environment as it shortens truck routes.”

Purple is also working on modifying the use permit at their Graton winery to add end-to-end capabilities. This too will reduce the impacts to the community and environment while providing a fully integrated winery. For more information, check out www.purpleproposal.com. In this shift, more than twenty roles have been created at American Canyon across various functions from cellar and bottling operations to maintenance mechanics. Purple is actively recruiting for these roles. Gilliland stated, “We look forward to our American Canyon winery becoming our ‘go-to’ winery and providing the best custom crush and bottling services in the North Bay.”

Purple is also moving its office headquarters to Petaluma. This move is taking place in two phases; the first happened in May, the second in late Summer 2019. Purple is excited by this move as it positions our corporate support functions closer to the business center of the North Bay. President, Aaron Webb, states, “The move to Petaluma supports Purple’s vision to be a brand-led wine and spirits powerhouse. The city of Petaluma is well positioned in the North Bay to draw talent and centrally located between our facilities.”

These moves help Purple Wine + Spirits support both strategic goals of building its own brands as well as providing superior crush and bottling services to the industry.
