LIVERMORE VALLEY, CA – April 29, 2019Wente Family Estates the oldest continuously-operated, family-owned winery in the country, is pleased to announce a partnership with Bodega Cuarto Dominio of Argentina.  Wente Family Estates will be the designated US importer, sales and marketing agent for Bodega Cuarto Dominio of Argentina.  Bodega Cuarto Dominio, born from two fourth generation families in the art of viticulture and winemaking for over 110 years, produces distinctive terroir driven wines from their historic vineyards in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina.

“We are honored to represent the wines from Bodega Cuarto Dominio and are excited to grow these brands in the US market”, remarked Amy Hoopes, President of Wente Family Estates.

“One of the things we appreciate most about the partnership with Bodega Cuarto Dominio is the alignment of shared values between family owned wineries, both in the approach to winemaking and in the approach to building a long term, sustainable premium wine business”, stated Tyson Overton, EVP and Chief Sales Officer of Wente Family Estates. “Bodega Cuarto Dominio perfectly represents what our Families and Region’s (FAR) portfolio is about –partnerships with respected family owned wineries and unique offerings from world class regions.”

The Bodega Cuarto Dominio portfolio, consisting of wines that have received 90 points or more in nine consecutive vintages, focuses on Malbec from high altitude vineyards emphasizing freshness, elegance and a sense of place.  Wente Family Estates will launch with four unique Malbec’s from Bodega Cuarto Dominio. The flagship Bodega Cuarto Dominio Malbec is the expression of two very small and unique lots from the family’s La Consulta vineyard and the Bodega Cuarto Domino “Chento” is a single vineyard selection of three parcels from La Consulta.  The Tolentino Malbec, a reference to the Italian birthplace of Javier Catena Pedro’s grandfather, represents a survey of the family’s vineyards while the Lote 44 is the most fruit forward of the Bodega Cuarto Dominio Malbec offerings.

Andres Blanchard of Bodega Cuarto Dominio added, “It is a privilege for us to work with a family we have always admired for the quality of wines they produce, and we are thrilled about this partnership as we are convinced it will bring new opportunities to both wineries in the US market.”

About Bodega Cuarto Dominio
Located in La Consulta, Uco Valley, Bodega Cuarto Dominio winery is owned and operated by fourth generation Mendoza producers: Andres Blanchard Perez represents the 4th generation of a French/Spanish origin family with a long tradition in viticulture and Javier Catena Pedro is a 4th generation winemaker from a family with Italian origins and has been producing high quality wines in Argentina for over 110 years.  It all began more than a century ago, when the first generation traveled to Argentina from Europe with the hope of turning their winemaking dreams into reality in Mendoza. Passion, conviction and determination helped this generation plant the first family vineyards in the East and Central Valleys shortly after their arrival in Mendoza. Over 110 years later, the legacy lives on and is thriving as the following generations of Mendoza producers have continued to cultivate and produce wines of distinction, quality and authenticity in the high elevation vineyards of the Uco Valley.
