World-Class Songwriters, Famous Napa Valley Wineries and Host Resort Harvest Inn Join Forces for One-of-a-Kind Music Experience

NASHVILLE, TN – January 16, 2019 – Music and wine lovers unite as Songwriters In Paradise (SIP) hosts the inaugural SIP NAPA, a four-day singer-songwriter festival in the gorgeous hills of Napa Valley from March 21st – 24th. The festival, set to be a one-of-a-kind music experience, will take place at four of the most unique, beautiful and accomplished wineries including Gargiulo Vineyards, Alpha Omega, Silver Oak and Brasswood and feature performances by more than 20 world-class singer-songwriters.
“I’m beyond excited for the inaugural SIP NAPA this year. When I first came up with the idea for Songwriters in Paradise, I knew I wanted to take it to a number of locations and Napa Valley was high on my list,” said Patrick Davis, Nashville-based singer-songwriter and founder of Songwriters in Paradise. “In my mind, music and wine belong together and partnering with these four wineries is an absolute dream come true.”
Each SIP NAPA show will expertly pair the host winery’s extraordinary wine selections with light appetizers and three hours of phenomenal “in the round” acoustic performances featuring multiple songwriters on stage together swapping stories and songs.
Songwriters in attendance have written hits for Zac Brown Band, Sugarland, Hootie & the Blowfish, Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum, Jimmy Buffett, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Luke Combs, Chris Young, Jewel and many more; and include names such as Patrick Davis, SIP Founder; Kristian Bush of Sugarland; Mark Bryan, Hootie & the Blowfish guitarist; Chris Barron, lead singer of the Spin Doctors; and James Otto, who found radio success with his hits “Just Started Lovin’ You” and “Groovy Little Summer.”
“It’s not every day you get to hear the stories behind why songs were written or listen to them sung by the songwriters themselves. That’s the magic of SIP NAPA. Night after night, fans will get to experience amazing performances paired with their favorite wines creating a unique and intimate music experience,” added Davis.
The host resort for SIP NAPA is the exquisite Harvest Inn, located in St. Helena. Harvest Inn is one of NAPA’s premier resorts with an onsite restaurant and bar, beautifully landscaped grounds and 78 rooms that offer a charming wine country ambiance. THE SONGWRITERS IN PARADISE STORY
Songwriters In Paradise was born in 2013 when Davis was offered the opportunity to perform as a solo artist at The Firefly Sunset Resort in Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas and asked instead if he could try out an idea he believed would be more beneficial and fun for all parties involved. Davis proposed bringing a few of his incredibly talented musical friends to Hope Town’s Bahamian island paradise for a multi-day songwriters festival. When Jim Irvin & Lorenzo Barigelli of The Firefly Sunset Resort agreed, Davis’ vision for SIP became a reality.
“Songwriters In Paradise is like a family with the songwriters, the attendees, the venues and the paradise all making up equal parts of that family. I hand choose each of the SIP Songwriters for not only their musical talent, which of course must be immense, but also for their ability to bring people together with not only their music but with their personalities, their kindness and their accessibility,” explained Davis.
Davis’ first SIP Hope Town festival included just eight songwriters and three nights of music. Today, SIP is more popular than ever with SIP HOPE TOWN entering its seventh year and having expanded to SIP CABO, which is in its third year and SIP NAPA, which is in its inaugural year.
“I find venues and partners that truly believe in the SIP vision that I foresee as a year after year life long journey. I want the attendees of each and every SIP to feel as if they are experiencing an event and a feeling, one that they cannot put a price tag on and one that they know – without sometimes knowing exactly how or why they know. Something special and something that is not the ordinary. And the paradise, well the paradise is the star of the show because without our unique and rather exquisite SIP destinations, I am not sure any of the above would happen in the first place,” added Davis.
SIP NAPA STUDENT SONGWRITING SCHOLARSHIP
Songwriters In Paradise is offering one young songwriter per year the opportunity to join the SIP NAPA line-up as both an honored attendee and special guest performer. Each SIP Student Songwriting Winner will not only get to shadow SIP Songwriters during the festival, but also get to write a song with some of the SIP songwriters and perform at one of their shows. The 2019 winner is Kay Gianna of Jacksonville, Florida. At only 16 years old, Kay Gianna has already released a 4 song EP, opened shows for a number of popular artists & more than 50 of her own songs.
