Lapis Luna Appoints Evan Nelson General Manager

(SANTA MARGARITA, Calif.) December 14, 2018 – Lapis Luna, the recently acquired 20-year old wine brand, has appointed Even Nelson as General Manager for the quickly growing company.

Drew Stapp, partner, reported that “we’ve opened 22 markets since July, and could have launched more markets, but we chose to focus on growth within our current network. Evan will help keep us organized and on track.”

Nelson will oversee all aspects of the fast-growing brand and will report to Stapp.  He recently managed on-premise sales in West Los Angeles for Wine Warehouse, and was named sales rep of the year in 2017.  Earlier in his career, Nelson worked in operations for Channel Island Surfboards and in sales for tech company Lynda.com (LinkedIn). He graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, with an emphasis in International sales and marketing.

Nelson is excited about joining the team:  “There aren’t many wine brands that deliver such good quality for the value.and the story and the packaging is engaging.”

Lapis Luna was rebranded earlier this year with a new package design and new wines.  The labels are renditions of 400-year old engravings, each showing a faceless hero reaching for the moon.  Sales have grown sharply, with shipments on track to reach fifty thousand cases in three years.

Stapp hopes that Lapis Luna inspires consumers drinking $10 wines to trade up, to “reach for the moon.”  Lapis Luna Sauvignon Blanc, Red Blend, and Zinfandel (North Coast) and Cabernet (Lodi) are available for suggested retail $14.99.
