Santa Barbara, CA – Thanks to the incredible generosity of the local Santa Barbara community, over the past six years, Grassini Family Vineyards has raised nearly $142,000 for local charities at their annual “Grassini Gives Back” charity wine event. This year, the event will be held on December 9th in support of Storyteller Children’s Center, a local year-round therapeutic preschool for homeless and disadvantaged toddlers and preschoolers who have experienced severe trauma. Storyteller recently celebrated 30 years of helping Santa Barbara’s homeless and at-risk children achieve Kindergarten Readiness by providing therapeutic preschool and support services for their entire family.

On the day of the event, the public is invited to visit the Grassini Family Vineyard wine tasting room in the historic El Paseo building and enjoy a special wine tasting flight or glass of wine while enjoying tasty nibbles and hors d’oeuvres while perusing the fantastic silent auction items.  100% of the day’s wine tasting fees, silent auction proceeds, raffle ticket sales, and individual donations will be donated directly to Storyteller Children’s Center.  To make the event even more impactful, Grassini Family Vineyards will then match the day’s tasting fees and raffle ticket proceeds and donations of any size and donate that amount to Storyteller.

“My family and I understand how fortunate we are to have our tasting room in such a beautiful town, and we welcome every opportunity to give back to the local community,” said Katie Grassini, CEO of Grassini Family Vineyards.  “When one of our wine club members told us about Storyteller Children’s Center, we knew we had found a charity that was truly making an impact on young lives and transforming their futures. Comprehensive preschool programs such as Storyteller can reverse the toxic trauma that these young children have been subjected to, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to help fund these life-changing programs.”

Admission to the event is free, but you can make an impact simply by enjoying some great wines.  If you try the special wine tasting flight for $20, not only is your $20 fee donated to Storyteller, but the Grassini family will match that donation, turning your wine tasting experience into a $40 donation! Silent auction proceeds will also be donated to Storyteller Children’s Center.  This year, there will be several unique experiences and packages to bid on, such as a Santa Ynez Valley Wine and Dine Weekend (complete with an overnight stay at the exclusive Grassini Winery!)
