BACA Wines, a recently launched California Zinfandel brand spearheaded by Director Jennifer Brown and Winemaker Alison Frichtl Hollister, has announced plans to host a Holiday launch event at HALL St. Helena on December 1, 2018. This event will serve as the kick-off for a month-long holiday drive campaign, benefiting NEWS, a Napa-based non-profit that provides support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

The format of this event will be a round-robin of activities. Guests will make their way into the mezzanine of the main tasting building and once inside, will find themselves encapsulated by holiday cheer. After a visit to the BACA Bar, guests can make their way through a circuit of activities, starting with an Ugly-Sweater Selfie Station, then moving on to play some of BACA’s larger than life games and finally picking up some amazing appetizers to enjoy with the holiday music.

This event will be held in the BACA Lounge on Saturday, December 1 from 3p.m. -5p.m. Entrance to the event, which includes a wine tasting and light bites, can be secured through a donation to NEWS through the HALL Wines website. The donation system is modeled after a game drive, with the four different levels of donation named after games. For example, the DOMINOS Donation is $30. “Game” donations can be purchased online at bacawines.com, and will be available throughout the remainder of December in exchange for a complimentary BACA tasting. Each donation will translate to one complimentary tasting per person.

At the Kick-Off Party, guests will get to taste through the four 2016 BACA Zinfandel wines that include Cat’s Cradle: Rockpile, Tug O’ War: Maffei Vineyard, Russian River Valley, I Spy: Howell Mountain, and Double Dutch: Dusi Vineyard, Paso Robles. The 2016 vintage marks the inaugural year for the luxury Zinfandel brand by Kathryn and Craig Hall, the makers of HALL and WALT Wines.

NEWS – Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse Services is a local non-profit, serving survivors and their children in Napa Valley. NEWS is dedicated to providing safety, hope, healing and empowerment for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Equally, NEWS is committed to promoting safe communities and social change through prevention, intervention, education, and advocacy. Donations would directly benefit NEWS’ staff and the people and families who they help every day.

“On behalf NEWS, Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Services, we are honored to have been chosen to receive proceeds from the BACA Holiday Drive Launch Event! The support we receive will help bring a safe and joyful holiday season to the families we serve.” NEWS Executive Director Tracy Lamb says of the upcoming event.

BACA is Latin for berry. The team sources fruit from some of California’s most notable growing regions—Russian River, Rockpile, Howell Mountain, and Paso Robles. Using masterful winemaking techniques that include optical sorting, exacting fermentations and aging in French oak barrels, BACA crafts powerful wines that reflect the unique places the grapes are grown. The result is four complex, charismatic Zinfandels that pair beautifully with both food and adventure.
