Lompoc, CA (August 29, 2018) – Flying Goat Cellars will host a Socrates Salon with Philosopher Joe White on Friday, September 21, from 5-7pm at the tasting room. Professor White seeks to indulge the noblest pleasure in understanding the nature and value of pleasure. The dialogue will take us from Epicurus (340- 270 B.C.), founder of Hedonism, to the modern Hedonic Calculus, as first articulated by Jeremy Bentham (1748 -1832 A.D.). The ChaCha Cooking Club will provide hors d’oeuvres par excellence and Flying Goat will provide wine. Seating is limited. $40/ person and reservations available at www.ChaChaCookingClub.com.
Philosopher Joe White is the former Philosophy Department Chair and Professor Emeritus Santa Barbara City College. SBCC is the #1 Community College in U.S. and possibly the world!
