Santa Ynez Valley, CA — Santa Barbara County’s Fess Parker Winery is pleased to announce the addition of Spencer Shull as Winery Family Representative. A grandson of winery founder, Fess Parker, Shull represents part of the third generation behind Fess Parker Winery, which will celebrate 30 years as a family owned and operated business in the coming year.

A graduate of the University of Colorado – Boulder, Shull started his career in fine wine and beer sales at the iconic Boulder Liquor Mart during college. In 2014, he returned to California to work harvest under the direction of Winemakers Blair Fox and Tyler Eck, finishing the year by further developing his wine skills as a full-time Tasting Room Consultant. After graduation, Spencer moved back to Santa Barbara in 2017 to work in the tap room of Third Window Brewing Company, a family owned brewery dedicated to producing small batch, handcrafted beer. “Spencer’s experience selling wine and craft beer, coupled with his personality and presence will be a great addition to our team. We’re really excited to have another family member out in the market on a regular basis. His grandpa would be very pleased,” says Proprietor Ashley Parker Snider.

As Family Representative, Shull will play an important role in supporting key accounts and brand development, including enhancing distributor relationships and expanding consumer-facing activities in markets throughout the country.

Fess Parker Winery was founded in 1989 by Actor Fess Parker (1924-2010), who was considered by many to be an American icon for his portrayal of frontiersmen Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone in the late 1950’s and 60’s. As the eleventh winery to join the Santa Barbara Vintners Association, Fess Parker remains one of the few wineries still family-owned and operated.

Shull is among the third generation of family members who have joined the family business, which includes Katie Parker, owner of KAP Land & Cattle who raises Wagyu beef for The Bear and Star restaurant; Kris Parker, owner of Third Window Brewing Company; and Amanda Parker, event coordinator for both The Bear and Star and Fess Parker Wine Country Inn. Shares Shull, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to travel to different markets and spread the word about everything we’re doing in Santa Barbara County.  I’m really looking forward to carrying on the family legacy as well.”

“As a family winery owned and operated by second and third generations, it’s important to celebrate our past while continuing to look to the future,” says Parker Snider. “Even after thirty years, Fess Parker Winery is still an emerging brand and, thanks to the passion and dedication of our growing team, we can look forward to the next thirty years to come.”
