DUNDEE, Oregon – April 12, 2018 – Argyle Winery, one of Oregon’s most celebrated producers of sparkling wine, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling, is happy to announce the appointment of Robert Alstrin to the position of director of sales and marketing. With more than 20 years of wine industry experience, and deep roots in the Oregon wine community, Alstrin will manage Argyle’s marketing and DTC teams, while guiding strategic brand planning for the pioneering winery.

Alstrin began his career in wine as the director of operations for Augustan Wine Imports, before joining Domaine Serene as VP of national sales and marketing in 2001. In 2005, he founded Portland-based Northwest Core Collection, where he spent nine years guiding the distribution network for a portfolio of leading Oregon and Washington wineries, including such noted wineries as Bergstrom, Bethel Heights, A to Z and Penner-Ash. Alstrin also worked as the western regional director for European Cellars, where he was responsible for managing sales for more than 100 European wineries.

A skilled wine industry executive, Alstrin also gained extensive experience running his own businesses. He was the co-owner of Oregon’s Eminent Domaine Winery, and the founder and president of Northwest Core Consulting, where he provided sales, marketing and general management consulting to the wine industry. Alstrin has served on the board of directors for Oregon Pinot Camp, and was a founder and board member for Oregon Wine Collaboration, a wine-industry focused professional organization.

“Rob’s diverse background in every facet of the wine business makes him the ideal person to oversee Argyle’s sales and marketing program,” says Steve Myers, the North American managing director of Distinguished Vineyards & Wine Partners, which owns Argyle. “Just as important, Rob shares our vision and values, including a reverence for Argyle’s rich history, and an appreciation for our commitment to leadership and innovation. His belief in building positive long-term partnerships, his empowering and collaborative leadership style, and his expansive experience make him a great addition to the Argyle team.”
