March 21, 2018 – The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance (FLWA) is proud to announce our third annual “Finger Lakes Riesling Camp” taking place this April 8-10 at a variety of member winery locations throughout the Finger Lakes, New York. This innovative program will bring sixteen wine influencers from various markets across the country for a three day, hands-on intensive and intimate experience all about Riesling. Campers will participate in vineyard and winery experiences, blending trials, and educational sessions on topics related to Riesling production, including single vineyard Rieslings, Riesling clones and Riesling versatility. The highlight of Riesling Camp is the hands-on blending trial held at the FLCC Viticulture & Wine Center where each camper utilizes various Riesling components to craft their own individual Riesling. A blind tasting competition, held by the campers themselves, will reveal the winner of the Riesling Blending Challenge (bragging rights encouraged).

Fifteen members of the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance are participating in Riesling Camp: Atwater Vineyards, Boundary Breaks Vineyard, Chateau Lafayette Reneau, Dr. Konstantin Frank Wine Cellars, Fox Run Vineyards, Fulkerson Winery, Glenora Wine Cellars, Heron Hill Winery, Knapp Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars, Red Newt Cellars, Sheldrake Point Winery, Swedish Hill Winery, and Wagner Vineyards.

“We are thrilled to once again showcase the magic of Finger Lakes Riesling and the warmth and collaborative spirit of our member wineries and supporting area businesses. The program is designed to create Finger Lakes ambassadors in various markets and this year we will welcome campers from NYC, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Massachusetts and Upstate NY.” stated Tracey Dello Stritto, Executive Director of the FLWA.

The mission of the FLWA is to increase the visibility and reputation of Finger Lakes AVA, its wines and wineries as North America’s premier cool-climate wine region.
