The Winery’s Best-Selling Sonoma County Red Blend Celebrates its 25th Vintage

March 2, 2018; (HEALDSBURG, Calif.)—Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery debuted their 2015 Ferrari-Carano SIENA Red Wine with an anniversary label celebrating its 25th release. The flagship of the winery’s Spirit of Italy wine family, SIENA is a sangiovese-based Italian-style blend of grapes grown in sustainably-farmed estate vineyards in Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys.

Both the Stelvin cap closure and a bottom label say 25th Anniversary in elegant, celebratory text. At just $21 SRP, this national release is a household favorite, blended to be a food-friendly, easy-sipping red, ready to open upon release. The new vintage has already garnered a 90-point score in Wine Spectator and a silver medal at the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

Winery Chief Executive Officer Rhonda Carano says, “SIENA celebrates our families’ Italian roots. We wanted to make a red wine that would taste great year-round and make any night of the week feel special. We call SIENA ‘a red for all seasons, for any reason.’”

Executive Winemaker Sarah Quider says this vintage of SIENA has aromas of raspberry jam and leather; flavors of sweet plums, cherry and graham cracker; and supple tannins and a balanced mouthfeel with lively elegance and depth. Recommended food pairings include savory Italian pastas and pizzas and poultry.
