Leading Chianti Classico family announces exclusive US distribution partnership

NEW YORK, February 28, 2018 – Historic Tuscan wine producer Ricasoli has appointed Folio Fine Wine Partners as its national sales and marketing partner effective March 1, 2018.

Announcing their latest partnership, Folio Fine Wine Partners Co-Founder Michael Mondavi stated: “Over the last 14+ years, Folio has built a deep and thorough knowledge of the Tuscan category, and we are thrilled to represent one of the most historically significant Chianti Classico producers with Ricasoli.”

Mondavi continued, “The story of Chianti and Chianti Classico starts with Ricasoli, and with more than 32 generations of family-owned and managed operations, including the stunning Brolio castle. The Ricasoli family embodies our philosophy of representing the finest family-owned and managed producers.”

Francesco Ricasoli, President of Ricasoli and 32nd generation Baron of Brolio, stated, “We make wines that embody a place we have called home for centuries. We are confident that by appointing Folio Fine Wine Partners as our exclusive importer, we will be able to open our home and share our inimitable terroir with more American wine consumers than ever before. We are glad to align in business with a family that wrote the history of American wine. As a family-owned winery, we share the Mondavis’ values and passion, and for this reason we are proud Folio has selected Ricasoli as a key brand to represent Chianti Classico in the US market.”

Sales and Marketing Director Massimo Tonini added, “Folio is the ideal partner for Ricasoli because we can count on their great experience in managing luxury brands, combined with a top class distribution network and very good access to the on-premise channel, where brands are still built.”

Brolio is one of the most representative estates of the Chianti Classico, with over 3,000 acres of property, 580 of which are under vine. Brolio Castle receives over 40,000 visitors every year.
