Celebrated Trentino DOC Producer Tells the Story of Estate Growers and Dedication to Sustainability with New Label Design

NEW YORK (February 15, 2018) – This March, Mezzacorona – one of Northern Italy’s leading wineries – will introduce a new look for their 2017 Pinot Grigio Trentino DOC. The new label, which will roll out on the brand’s full line later in the year, celebrates its family of estate growers and its dedication to sustainability as it communicates Mezzacorona’s 114 years of heritage, authenticity and tradition.

Established in 1904 by 11 vintners, Mezzacorona comprises more than 1,600 wine growers and is the largest estate-grown winery in Italy – as well as one of the leading certified sustainable wineries in Europe. Each label for the 2017 Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio depicts one of these farmers hand-harvesting the estate-grown grapes and notes the wine’s Trentino DOC designation as a marker for how it has become a leading producer of Pinot Grigio. The Trentino DOC appellation identifies a commitment to preserving quality and the authentic essence of this region known for its alpine climate, a wide difference in day and night temperatures, limestone soil, low humidity levels which guarantee healthy grapes, and a later harvest which allows better development of flavor and aromas.

In addition, the labels of the newest vintage now highlight the SQNPI Qualita Sostenibile certification, the seal of sustainability from Italy’s national system for integrated production quality. This certification is the result of following strict protocols that include a guarantee of perfect traceability of each bath and bottle, and an assurance that the wine comes from the grapes that have been controlled and certified by the SQNPI.

“Our new label is designed to communicate who we are, where we come from and what our wines offer,” says Mezzacorona CEO Fabio Maccari. “The SQNPI certification is a clear indicator of our commitment to sustainability, and in highlighting the families of growers on our new labels, we are telling our story, which is one of authenticity, beauty and value.”

The 2017 Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio Trentino DOC will be on shelves in March 2018 and has a Suggested Retail Price of $11.99.
