HEALDSBURG, Calif. (January 5, 2018)—Jordan Vineyard & Winery, producer of French-inspired Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon for more than forty years, announces the appointment of Angela Smith as Regional Sales Director for the Southern United States, effective December 2017. Smith brings more than 13 years of distributor management, luxury hotel and restaurant experience to the position. She replaces Gabe Urrutia.

A Georgia native, Smith will be responsible for distributor management, Jordan sales initiatives, regional events and Tastevin tablet wine list integration in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia. She most recently served as a district manager for Republic National Distributing Company’s (RNDC) on-premise division in Charleston, South Carolina, a relocation opportunity she’d taken after five years with RNDC in Atlanta. “We are very excited to have Angela as the newest member of our great sales team,” says Brad Butcher, National Sales Director at Jordan Vineyard & Winery. “Her years of experience in the food and beverage industry, coupled with her passion and knowledge of wine, will certainly improve our brand’s performance in the region.”

Smith grew up in St. Simons Island, Ga., and attended the University of Georgia in Athens. While studying abroad in Italy, she became exposed to wine and developed a keen interest for European wine culture. After graduating with a degree in public relations in 2007, she worked at restaurants in Athens, enjoyed the local music scene, and continued to travel to satisfy her curiosity for international wine and food. In 2010, she moved to Atlanta to gain luxury hospitality experience at Ritz-Carlton and became friends with a sommelier who later encouraged her to transition into wine sales.

She resides in Charleston, South Carolina, with her husband and two dogs. She enjoys traveling, cooking and reading.
