Winner of four Emmy awards now based in Santa Rosa

October 2017, Santa Rosa – Ken Fuhr has launched Ken Fuhr Media Inc., with an office in Santa Rosa. From his former home base in New York, for over 30 years, Fuhr has been a videographer, segment producer and assignment editor for numerous major network news shows, including 60 Minutes, 20/20, The Today Show and Good Morning America. He has won four Emmy Awards, one most recently earned for a 60 Minutes story on a child jazz musician. Apart from his broadcast newsmagazine work, he also continues as a Director of Photography for corporate and documentary programs.

Fuhr has worked with a literal who’s who of dignitaries and celebrities in his career, from all U.S. Presidents beginning with George H.W. Bush through the current President. He has worked with all the news greats from Barbara Walters to Mike Wallace and a vast range of celebrities from Oprah to Hollywood legends like Dustin Hoffman and Sean Penn.

His relocation to Sonoma County allows him to be available for video projects for businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area and wine country.

“My business consists of creating video driven content for wineries, distillers, breweries, other tourist/hospitality trade, and even non-related industries. I look forward to sharing my expertise with the wine & spirits industry, Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area,” Fuhr says. “With so many screens to provide video content, from social media, to websites, mobile ads, your tasting room up to traditional TV, we all have become broadcasters in a sense.  As the impact of visual communications is undoubtedly the most effective way to influence an audience, one must consider a strategy for creating content that will push your company out in the forefront and ahead of the clutter,” Fuhr explains.

Fuhr is currently doing projects for Women of the Vine & Spirits, Bruliam Wines and Burgess Cellars. “By living in this area at the time of these historic wildfires I am aware of the increased needs businesses may have at this difficult time.  Knowing how to handle messaging and being sensitive to the devastation in our area can be tricky, and I’m ready to use my skills to help,” he says.

For the last twelve years Fuhr has also been a Communications Specialist for Clarity Media Group based in New York. He has coached people to improve their public speaking presentations, both as media training for press opportunities as well as message development. In his new wine country base, Ken continues to represent Clarity Media Group and offer communications coaching services. “Whether it’s the founding vintner or a server in the tasting room, media training can be very valuable in insuring the winery’s marketing message is communicated with continuity and credibility,” Fuhr says.   “Effective messaging of course encompasses Fortune 500 companies, small business owners, book authors and all of those who work in the tourism sector,” he added.

Fuhr’s expertise in media training factors into his video production work. “Because of my communications coaching background, I offer a mini-media training session with the client to get them extensively prepared for being on-camera and to distinguish their messages and branding for the project,” Fuhr says.

Fuhr’s team includes Joachim Blunck, his Creative Director.  Blunck’s years of experience span publishing, film, television and new media.  Blunck has created many television programs, award-winning documentaries, internationally-honored television, newspaper and web designs as well as numerous product launches. A two-time Emmy winner, his television expertise includes program launches for the FOX and FX networks and a variety of projects for Paramount, UPN, Bravo, Showtime, MTV and NASA among others.  The programming and production techniques that he’s created and implemented have been imitated throughout the industry.

Fuhr is based in Sonoma County and is available anywhere in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. He can be reached at 914/329-9183 or ken@kenfuhr.com.
