10% of Pass Sales Revenue to be Donated to Napa Valley Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund

Napa, California (October 17, 2017) – Amid Northern California wildfires affecting the community, the seventh annual Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF) today released a statement of community support and a commitment to staying on track for this year’s festival. Taking place from November 8-12, all 120+ films, culinary demonstrations, wine tastings and special events are scheduled to take place as planned. Working alongside local businesses, government agencies and Visit Napa Valley, the festival will be both a celebration of the beautiful Valley and cinematic storytelling, concurrently seeking to aid efforts to rebuild and heal the region loved by residents and visitors alike.

NVFF will directly support the local community by donating 10% of all pass sales revenue from October 16 through the festival to the Napa Valley Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund. In addition to other charitable support for the recovery, NVFF Presenting Sponsor Lexus is generously donating 1,000 free tickets to select movies for those impacted by the Valley fires.

“Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with all of our Napa and Sonoma County families, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and partners during this difficult time,” said NVFF co-founders/directors Marc and Brenda Lhormer. “Our intention is to put on the most memorable and meaningful film festival to date. Our partners and venues are eager to share this festival with those who love and need great stories, conversation, and bonding experiences. Festivalgoers will be able to support the Valley’s rebuilding efforts by booking hotel rooms and making restaurant reservations. This will all add positive economic impact during the Valley’s time of need.”

The festival looks forward to welcoming over 300 filmmakers to the festival, as well as honoring great talent including Will Ferrell, Nancy Meyers, Michael Shannon, and Michael Stuhlbarg. Additionally, over 120 films will be screened, including highly anticipated award-contenders such as Call Me By Your Name, I, Tonya, Molly’s Game and The Shape of Water. The full festival line-up of films, culinary programs, and special events can be found at www.nvff.org.
