Santa Barbara Wine Country’s Largest Winery Opens State-of-the-Art Wine Production Facility to Tours; Guests Create a Personalized Bottle of Wine to Take Home

September 26, 2017 – Buellton, CA – BOTTLEST Winery, Bar & BistroSanta Ynez Valley’s new dining and entertainment destination in BuelltonCalifornia, has officially launched yet another option for guests looking to customize their “ultimate wine country experience”: the Bottlest Winery Tourone of the most unique winery tour experiences in California.

The new Bottlest Winery Tour gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at parent company, Terravant Wine Company’s, winery facility – the largest wine production facility in Santa Barbara County, with an annual production capacity of over one million cases, also making it one of the 65 largest wineries in the United States.

The Bottlest Winery Tour, which spans about an hour and a half, begins by having guests craft their own wine complete with personalized flavor profiles and label, on the company’s new – still in Beta – web site, Bottlest.com, the first online experience where consumers can create wine from start to finishbased on their personal preferences. The tour moves on to the production facility and barrel room, allowing guests to taste six wines, from the bottle, barrel and tank, while they learn about the ins and outs of the entire winemaking process.

The tour feejust $25.00 per personincludes the custom-crafted bottle of wine, which is ready for guests at the end of the tour, and entails a blend of flavors chosen by the guest and a custom-printed label displaying a photo of their tour group.

“You can think of Terravant as the Willy Wonka of wineries. It’s an expansive, wondrous facility, and on our new tours, guests get to see how things really work behind the scenes in a winery – right down to tasting the wines in various stages of their progress,” said Dave Moser, Vice President of Direct to Consumer at Terravant Wine Company, who added, “Tasting of in-process wines for public educational purposes is rare, and it helps people to better understand just how wine gets ‘made’”.

Additional perks of the Bottlest Winery Tour are discounts at the lauded Bottlest bar and bistro (discounts good for the date of the tour), and deals on wine purchased at Bottlest, that same day.

BOTTLEST’s bar and bistro is located directly adjacent to Terravant’s winery facility, which anchors the south end of Buellton’s burgeoning Industrial Way, a strengthening foodie magnet due to its concentration of wineries and wine tasting rooms, craft distilleries and breweries, and gourmet restaurants and sweets shops.

Led by Executive Chef Owen Hanavan and Chef De Cuisine, Barton Jones, the restaurant and bar portion of Bottlest includes fine dining for lunch and dinner, plus a classic-California, elevated comfort food bar menu and full bar, in an upscale, industrial loft space overlooking Terravant’s wine production facility on one side, and the Santa Ynez Mountains on the other. A defining feature of the BOTTLEST bistro space is the venue’s “Wine Wall”, a Napa Technology WineStation system dispensing 52 ever-changingautomated self-serve wine tasting options available as one ounce tastes, half- or full glasses.

Bottlest’s full bar features a craft cocktail mixology program, a carefully-curated list of craft beers and ciders, a new live music series entitled “Crafted”, and late-night hours – another rarity in the Santa Barbara wine region.

The new Bottlest Winery Tour is by reservation only; tours run seven days per week at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Reservations may be made in advance online, at bottlest.com/bistro/the-wine/winery-tour.
