Winesellers, Ltd. celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, marking a two-generation legacy as an acclaimed importer and marketer of quality wines from around the globe. The Niles, IL-based family-run company—named 2015 Importer of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine—saw double-digit growth in recent years, and continually receives recognition for its diverse selections. The company’s portfolio of imports and select domestic wine brands are available in all 50 U.S. states and can be found in premier retailers and restaurants throughout the country.
Founded in November, 1977 by Yale Sager, the company is now overseen day-to-day by his two sons, Adam and Jordan. The brothers have continued his tireless commitment to producers, wholesalers and employees—many of whom have been with Winesellers since the very beginning—maintaining lasting relationships with producers like Santa Barbara Winery, Hope Estate and Derek Vinnicombe’s German Estate portfolio to bring consumers the best wine values. Winesellers, Ltd. has grown steadily over time, launching several new projects in the past year, including a new partnership with Bodega Carlos Serres – Rioja Alta, expansion of the European artisan cider portfolio, and the debut of Tiamo Organic canned wine, a new packaging format for the company.

The importer is also reputed for sourcing and developing its own highly regarded brands like Tortoise Creek from California’s Lodi and Central Coast regions; Sea Pearl from Marlborough, New Zealand; Tiamo, organic wines crafted from a collection of small organic certified growers throughout Italy; Senda Verde from the Galacia region of Spain; and La Fiera and Gran Passione, regional Italian wines showcasing the country’s rich diversity from the northern border all the way to Sicily.
