BENTON CITY, Wash. Uncrating and installation of a new HP digital press began today at the Columbia Label production facility. The company purchased the Indigo WS6800 Digital Press to further enhance its custom and specialty wine label and packaging production for Northwest wineries. The new press will be the latest model available anywhere on the West Coast.

“The wine industry has adopted the digital press technology to produce its wine labels and packaging because these presses provide incredible quality at prices wine makers of every size can afford,” said Steve Hall, manager of Columbia Label. “Incorporating these advanced machines into our facility will allow us to specialize in wine label production.”

The company began the procurement process this month for a high-tech ABG Digicon machine, which will complement the new digital press by further enhancing label finishing options for clients. Production of the ABG Digicon will begin in August with an anticipated arrival date in Benton City of January 2018.

“Our discerning wine clients will find that the capabilities of these machines will allow them to develop labels that match the unique profiles of their wines including embossing, hot stamping, specialty coatings and special embellishments and more,” Hall said.

The company supports the printing needs of winery and specialty food clients from across the Northwest including Tagaris, Badger Mountain Vineyards, Kestrel Vintners and Bonair Winery.

In addition to the newest digital press and finishing machine purchases, the company has made significant infrastructure and equipment investments to support the growing wine and food products industries including a 16,000-square foot production facility expansion and purchases of other press and finishing equipment.

Tuesday, July 11 at 11am, Columbia Label will be Facebook Live at http://www.facebook.com/columbialabelwa to showcase the new press in the beginning stages of installation and answer any questions from industry professionals
