Back for its 7th year, Saké Fest PDX not only highlights over 150 different types of international and local saké but also many unique food pairings.

PORTLAND, Ore. – June 15, 2017 – Discover the versatility of saké and learn to pair it with any food like a pro at Saké Fest PDX on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. With over 150 samples of US and Japanese-made saké, beer and spirits, attendees will have the opportunity to try food pairings from many top Portland chefs and eateries. 

Marcus V. Pakiser, Saké Fest PDX spokesperson and internationally renowned Saké Samurai said, “Samples of Japanese and American brands and premium and several rare saké will be available, as will regionally micro brewed ‘jizake,’ which means small, regional saké brewer.”

Come learn how versatile Saké can be with food — from cheese to smoked salmon to matcha green tea ice cream and everything in between! More than just saké, come taste fun collaborations such as the Sakura Gose sour beer between Burnside Brewing and Takashi Tsutsui of Japan’s Shonan beer and saké cocktails featuring Bull Run Distillery’s locally made spirits and TYKU/Davos Brands as well as The Floating World saké at Saké Fest PDX. Locally made saké cups created by Pincus Pottery Studio will also be available to purchase.

Tickets: All attendees receive a free souvenir tasting glass courtesy of SakéOne. Early Admission: $75 per person in advance online only. Regular Admission: $55 per person in advance online and a limited number of tickets may be available at the door. Adults 21+ only with proper ID. No ticketing fees, ever.

Discount Ticket Purchases: Early and Regular Admission- Groups of 8 or more receive $10 discount per ticket in advance online only.

Saké is a drink made from rice that originated in China approximately 5,000 years ago. It came to Japan around the 3rd century AD where it has been constantly enhanced and refined. Saké, as it is known today, originated at the beginning of the 20th century with the advent of modern brewing and bottling techniques.
