In the works since 2010 Release Winery is excited to present the inaugural release of this unique Rosé wine from Napa Valley. Approximately 100 bottles will be made available in the first offering.

Crafted from saignée of Cabernet Sauvignon juice, bled off within 24 hours from the regular RW Cabernet Sauvignon must and made in a ”Solera-style”, blending of multiple vintages, this one-of-a-kind wine contains almost equal parts Rosé wines from 7 vintages, from 2010 – 2016, with future releases to include subsequent vintages.

Versatile with a myriad of dishes and depending on serving temperature this wine is intended to be enjoyed both as a refreshing Rosé as well as a lighter-bodied ”Red wine”, much like the Clairet wines from the Bordeaux region in France.

Benefitting from the structured varietal and aided but high acidity, due to arrested malolactic fermentation, this wine can be enjoyed on release but should also prove to age gracefully.

Winemaker:

Henrik Poulsen is born, raised and educated in fine wine retail in Denmark. His winemaking journey began with a 13-months stay in Bordeaux in 1999 before moving permanently to Napa Valley. His resume here includes six vintages at Newton Vineyards, seven vintages as Assistant Winemaker at Alpha Omega Winery and most recently three vintages as Director of Winemaking for Acumen Wines. Co-founding Release Winery in 2010 as the winemaker, since 2016 he is the sole proprietor.
