Chilean Wine Company Appoints New Importer, Announces Robust 2017 Marketing Plan

NEW YORK, NY (April 26, 2017)—Viña Aresti announces a new way forward for its premium wines in the American market this year. The family-owned winery has recently launched a comprehensive marketing plan that includes public relations, advertising, distributor programming and a new importer partnership with VINAMERICAS. This multi-layered investment is part of an endeavor to bring greater awareness to the 65-year-old brand and its estate-produced wines, expand distribution and support its current customers at a retail and on-premise level.

“With this new strategic initiative, including the appointment of VINAMERICAS as our importer, we seek to reinvigorate Aresti in the U.S. market,” commented Matías Rivera, CEO of Aresti Chile Wine, S.A. “We want the American consumer to understand who we are as a winery—a family-run organization built on our founder’s ideals of responsibility, dedication, and commitment to make remarkable wines—and for the trade to expect a consistent level of support and outstanding quality in everything we do.”

Viña Aresti is located in the southern part of Curicó Valley, nestled between the majestic Andes and the vast Pacific Ocean. The estate measures 1,100 hectares with 350 hectares under vine, and is comprised of four vineyards, each with its own very expressive terroir: Bellavista, Micaela, Peñaflor and Bellavista Reserve. In addition to those from the family’s estate in Curicó, grapes are also sourced from various parts of Chile—every site carefully selected for being the perfect valley for each variety to achieve its best expression, thus creating wines that are a faithful reflection of the winery’s tradition and character.

Great care and attention are paid to the grapes that go into each bottle of wine. From handpicking in the vineyards, to the cellar where Aresti has the latest in machinery, tanks, storerooms, temperature control and bottling lines available. Hand-in-hand with its promise to deliver exceptional wines, Aresti is also committed to protecting the environment and operates under the stringent Wines of Chile Sustainability Code and Clean Production Agreement.

Viña Aresti exports seven wines to the U.S. at present:

  • Special Release Reserva, $14.99
    • Pinot Noir, Casablanca Valley
    • Sauvignon Blanc, Curicó Valley
    • Cabernet Sauvignon, Curicó Valley
  • Trisquel, $22.00
    • Sauvignon Blanc, Leyda Valley
    • Cabernet Sauvignon, Colchagua Valley
    • Assemblage, Colchagua Valley
  • Código de Familia, $100, Curicó Valley

o   The winery’s icon wine, this delicate blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc is sourced exclusively from the family’s Bellavista and Micaela estates. Both are situated in the Andean foothills where they receive the moderating influences of the river Claro and the mountains.

“I was truly impressed by Aresti’s elegant winemaking style, their attention to detail, both inside and outside the bottle, and their strong family connection,” expressed David Bernad, founder of VINAMERICAS. “Vicente Aresti Astica started something incredible and inspiring 65 years ago, and his daughters, Ana María and Begoña, are carrying on that legacy today. In this competitive market, they understand what is needed to succeed while staying true to long-standing family values.”

Earlier this year, Aresti hosted several small distributors in Miami, with a plan to add 6-10 new markets to its distribution within the next six months. It has also invested heavily in public relations and advertising in an effort to support its new partnerships and create awareness on a consumer level.

“The best part is that we’re just getting started,” continued Rivera. “We have some exciting new changes coming in the next few months, and will be adding a few new wines to the portfolio. It’s a very powerful year for Viña Aresti.”
