VERONA, ITALY | April, 2017 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Italy awarded the 2017 Wine Excellence Award to Ferrari Trento. Ferrari Trento received this accolade in celebration of its well-known history of trade in the wine industry, its infectious passion for wine and for its strong commitment to, and leading role in, strengthening the success of Italian sparkling wines in the US.

The award, now in its sixth edition, will be presented to Matteo Lunelli, President of Ferrari Trento, on Saturday, April 8th in Sala Arazzi at Palazzo Barbieri. The event will take place in the presence of the Consul General of Milan, Ambassador Philip T. Reeker, Mayor of Verona Flavio Tosi, Managing Director AmCham Italy Simone Crolla, and other Verona city officials.

“We are pleased to honor Ferrari Trento, an excellent Italian producer in the wine sector, which thanks to the quality of their products and an adequate commercial strategy, conquered the American market, demonstrating the characteristics necessary to approach and develop a successful business in the United States,” says Simone Crolla, Managing Director of American Chamber of Commerce in Italy.

“The award is a great source of pride,” said Matteo Lunelli. “It is the direct result of the Ferrari team’s daily commitment and passion to create our Trentodoc and to take our products into the world as ambassadors of the Italian Art of Living. I would like to thank our partners and importer Palm Bay, who has always believed in the potential of Ferrari and who helped us to grow within the US market, creating thriving interest in the quality of Italian sparkling wine. I dedicate this award to Trentino, a region extraordinarily suited to mountain viticulture, and to our team for fulfilling the dream of creating a wine that reflects the unique culture and emotion of Trentino.”

Among Ferrari’s thirty markets, the United States remains the main export market. Ferrari Trento applies varied focus on each market, through specific strategies and dedicated marketing activities. This year Ferrari will be the toast of many important moments in the world of fashion and design and will once again be the official sparkling wine of the Emmy Awards, watched by more than 20 million viewers.

About Ferrari Trento

Established in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, Ferrari crafts bottle-fermented sparkling wines created with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes cultivated on the slopes of the mountains in northern Italy’s Trentino region, according to the regulations of Trento D.O.C. Ferrari is led by the 3rd generation of the Lunelli family, descendants of Bruno Lunelli, who purchased the estate in 1952. For over a century the winery has continued Giulio Ferrari’s uncompromising search for excellence in every detail, staying true to Trentino and its mountain viticulture in the pursuit of quality, and with an enduring commitment to sustainability. Profoundly Italian in craftsmanship and reputation, Ferrari stands apart as a symbol of the Italian Art of Living, earning the distinction of “Best European Winery of the Year” at the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards in 2015.
