Rye Whiskey Available With American, French or Hungarian Oak Finish Aging
Sonoma, Calif. (April 11, 2017) – 3 Badge Beverage Corporation’s Mixology division has introduced an innovative new oak barrel aging program for its Masterson’s Rye Whiskey. Masterson’s Barrel-Finished Expressions offers consumers the option to buy Masterson’s small-batch, 100% Rye that has been finished in American, French or Hungarian oak barrels.
Masterson’s 10-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey is made from all rye and meets the strictest definition of traditional rye whiskey. The rye comes from the Pacific Northwest, and Masterson’s chooses grain that exhibits the perfect combination of weight, plumpness and rich, earthy fragrance. Using pure glacial water from the northern Rocky Mountains, Masterson’s meticulous distillation process uses an old-fashioned pot still. The spirit is then aged in charred white oak casks for ten years. Following cask aging, a limited quantity of the rye whiskey is then selected for the Barrel-Finished Expressions program for additional aging in either American, French or Hungarian oak barrels that have been air-dried outdoors for more than two years. Each of the oak barrel types imparts the optimal amount of complexity and flavors with varying times in barrel. Masterson’s Barrel-Finished Rye Whiskey retails for $79.

Named for gambler, buffalo hunter and army scout William “Bat” Masterson, a legendary frontier character who did it all and did it well, Masterson’s Rye comes in a gracefully shaped glass bottle designed to showcase the spirit’s alluring amber color. A limited edition, burnt orange neck strip label with “American Oak,” “French Oak” or “Hungarian Oak” distinguishes the barrel-finished ryes.
