First Direct to Consumer Sales Survey Focused on East Coast Wine Industry Launched

Healdsburg, CA, April 10, 2017 – Wine Industry Network (WIN) and VinQuest are partnering to gather and analyze direct to consumer sales data from U.S. eastern based wineries. The research will highlight best practices and establish benchmarks for the region’s wine industry to learn from and build on for the future.

“Direct to Consumer sales continues to be a winery’s most profitable revenue channel and in many cases, the only channel” says George Christie, President & CEO of Wine Industry Network. “For wineries located on the east coast, this is no exception, but without the tasting room traffic that many California wineries experience, they have to manage the direct channel a little differently. Our goal with this project is to identify what the most successful wineries are doing and share that with the entire region”.

Now in its tenth year, VinQuest has specialized in producing research that measures tasting room, wine club, and online sales to identify the best practices reported by top performing wineries across the country.  These metrics provide a valuable tool for wineries to improve their direct to consumer sales.
