Established Distributor Network Grows as Company Rolls into 2017 with Nine New Brands

April 4, 2017, Sonoma, Calif. — Founded to provide a national sales and marketing network to help small to mid-size wineries navigate a complex and consolidating distribution system, Vintage Point announced today a formal restructuring of its business and portfolio that will expand its distribution network and market reach. For the last decade, Vintage Point has created a launch platform for more than 50 value and luxury wine brands. Responding to the needs of the industry and distributor partners, the company portfolio is now streamlined to bring the right mix of wine brands to market. This more diverse portfolio includes 35 wine brands representing industry icons such as Mark Albrecht, Sam Bronfman, Walt Klenz, Philippe Melka, Bill Price, Michel Rolland, Ed Sbragia, Allan Shoup, Chris Upchurch and more.

Specializing in channel management, Vintage Point has developed a strong national sales team that has fostered key relationships with distributor sales teams, master sommeliers, restaurateurs, and key off premise accounts. “This reorganization of our portfolio comes out of ten years of industry hindsight and experience,” said David Biggar, co-founder and president of Vintage Point. “We are entering 2017 with the best line up of brands we’ve ever had. This robust, dynamic and diverse portfolio enables our strong distributor network and industry partners to deliver quality wines to their customer base, on and off premise,” he continued.

“At Vintage Point, we are very proud of our brand building capabilities. Over the past 10 years, we have built our annual winery revenues to over $75 million with a balance of luxury wine brands while building a dozen new lifestyle concept brands from scratch,” explains Tom Peterson, co-founder of Vintage Point. “Vintage Point opened its doors in 2006, and in 2015, we shipped over 670,000 cases of wine nationally, of which represented more than 95% new product and growth.”

In addition, today Vintage Point announces nine new clients in the past 12 months, including Mionetto Prosecco, Bacchus Wineworks, Cigar Box, Mas Buscados, Popcorn Chardonnay, Champy, Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate, Nine Hats and Julia’s Dazzle Rosé. Awarded the “Innovator of the Year” in 2012 by the Wine Enthusiast, Vintage Point’s innovation extends beyond packaging, branding, segmentation, sourcing and positioning, to provide a flexible and diverse approach that enables Vintage Point clients to go to market and compete.
