Alain Dominique PerrinCAHORS, France, February 2, 2017 – Alain Dominique Perrin, owner of Chateau Lagrézette, is pleased to announce a new national partnership in the United States with Curious Cork Imports – a fine wine importer based in Denver, Colorado and Napa, California. Beginning this month, the wines of Lagrézette join their portfolio of artisan and family-owned wine estates.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about partnering with Chateau Lagrézette,” said Curious Cork CEO, Peter Baedeker. “There is an excitement about Malbec in America, and a growing appreciation for the amazing wines of its birthplace – Cahors. Lagrézette is the most prominent wine estate in Cahors, and under the leadership and brand building expertise of Mssr. Perrin, is leading the renaissance in the appellation.”

The excellence of Chateau Lagrézette stems from the sensibilities of its creator: entrepreneur, contemporary art collector and former CEO of Richemont, Alain Dominique Perrin. He has owned the 500-year-old Chateau Lagrézette since 1980. Passionately committed to producing the finest French Malbecs, Perrin has transformed this Cahors gem into an internationally recognized property – producing a wide range of wines – from the flagship Chateau Lagrézette to the luxury single-vineyard cuvée Le Pigeonnier – an acclaimed wine referred to by Robert Parker as, “the quintessence of Cahors, and no other Cahors I have ever tasted evidences such concentration and intensity.”

“We are excited to be collaborating with Curious Cork Imports in the United States,” said Alain Dominique Perrin. “Their steadfast commitment to quality, dedication to their suppliers, innovative spirit and reputation in the market place is exceptional.”

The wines available through Curious Cork Imports will be: Purple Malbec 2015 (suggested retail price: $15), Seigneurs de Grézette 2015 (suggested retail price: $25), Chevalier du Chateau Lagrézette 2015 (suggested retail price: $30), Chateau Lagrézette 2009 (suggested retail price: $60), Rosé de Julie 2015 (suggested retail price: $25), Le Pigeonnier Rosé 2015 (suggested retail price: $80), and the rare and ultimate expression of the estate – Le Pigeonnier Malbec 2013 (suggested retail price: $290).

Cahors is one of the oldest and revered appellations in France. A dynamic force there, Alain Dominique Perrin has pushed boundaries and traditions – producing intensely aromatic and delicious Malbecs with a modern profile. He continues to develop extraordinary new vineyards for cultivation.
