Caroline Shaw, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Jackson Family Wines of California, joins national nonprofit

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (Feb 8, 2016) –For more than 10 years, Hope For The Warriors has been dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families. Each year under the leadership of trusted board members, the national nonprofit aims to provide support through a variety of programs focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement and connections to community resources.

Caroline Shaw recently joined the 13 member Hope For The Warriors Board of Directors. Shaw is the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Jackson Family Wines, the largest family-owned company of premium wines in the United States.

Shaw leads the company in its worldwide marketing and communications efforts for several prominent brands including the number one selling chardonnay in America — Kendall-Jackson’s Vintner’s Reserve.  In addition to managing the marketing and communications direction, she oversees the research and development, direct to consumer, culinary, in-house design and government affairs divisions.

“Growing up an Army ‘brat,’ I witnessed first-hand the challenges many military families face especially when a loved one returns home from an overseas assignment.  I also know the great pride and joy our service members  feel every time they put on the uniform,” said Caroline Shaw. “Joining the Hope For The Warriors board is one small way I can give back to the broader military ‘family’ that gave me my start in life.”

Shaw began her career in State Department working for Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright.  Her passion for international affairs and sports led her to the Salt Lake Winter Olympics where she reported directly to former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney.  After the Olympics she became the first female executive for the Utah Jazz. She left the world of sports to join KB Home, one of America’s top homebuilders on the Fortune 500 list.

In addition, Shaw serves as president of the Sonoma County Vintner’s Association and is the Chair of Wine America, a national trade organization focused on public policy.  She holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from George Washington University and resides in California with her husband and two children.

“We’re grateful for the leadership, expertise and commitment of our board members and are thrilled to have Caroline join the team,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of Hope For The Warriors. “Her military background and work in international marketing and government affairs in the sports and food and beverage industries will be a huge asset to the organization.”
