Napa Valley, December 15, 2016 – Wine Grenade, the wine maturation technology start up, has recruited wine industry business development specialist Cyril Derreumaux to lead sales and distribution in the United States. He has extensive experience in wine technology marketing, product development and operations in the USA, France and South America.
Mr Derreumaux joins from Laffort, a Petaluma, CA, based oenological product company where he was Business Development Manager. Prior to that he was General Manager at Vivelys in Santa Rosa, CA, a winemaking consulting company specializing in micro-oxygenation.
International experience includes general management and export roles respectively with Nadalie Cooperage in Argentina and Lablabo Airless Technologies in France, a company specialising in airless metering dispensers.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Wine Grenade at such a critical time in their development” says Derreumaux. ”Their innovative equipment democratizes oxygen addition during ageing and any winemaker can now harvest the benefits of a controlled addition of oxygen during the wine maturation period. I am excited to be able to introduce this technology to the California winemaking community.”
Mr Derreumaux will be responsible for supporting California winemakers and developing new channels to market for Wine Grenade’s hand held devices which replicate oak barrel maturation inside steel tanks by slowly and precisely dispersing tiny amounts of oxygen through a moving permeable membrane. Cloud-connected, they provide winemakers with vital data via a mobile app that allows them to track progress and control the process remotely.
Pilot wineries include AuburnJames in the Napa Valley and Sacred Hill in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.

Derreumaux holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from ESCP Europe. A keen ultra-endurance racer, Cyril holds a Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing from California to Hawaii in an Ocean Rowing Boat, achieved in just under 40 days in 2016.
