She has served as a statewide spokesperson, created numerous wine country events, and worked with various levels of government, business groups, and community leaders to ensure coordination on policy development and implementation.

Prior to moving to Sonoma County, Wendy served as the executive officer of a state commission that reported to the Governor of Oregon.  Wendy spent several legislative sessions working on issues impacting the health and welfare of Oregon’s children and their families.

An Oregon native, Wendy holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Portland State University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Oregon.

Wendy first experienced the beauty of the Russian River Valley when she visited the region fifteen years ago for a long weekend of wine tasting and exploring.  She was immediately captivated by the region to the point that traveling to Sonoma County became a regular tradition.  “The Russian River Valley embodies the heart and soul of Sonoma County Wine Country, it’s authentic, it’s distinct and it produces exceptional world class wines” states Hilberman.  “I look forward to working with the board, our members and the community to build on the rich history of the region, and increase the visibility of the extraordinary Russian River Valley AVA.”

The RRVW continues to create innovative events and programs that showcase the diversity of the Russian River Valley drawing people into the region for its unsurpassed natural beauty combined with an exquisite wine, food and luxury lodging experience.  As the organization moves forward to elevate the Russian River Valley brand they made a strategic decision to hire an Executive Director to move their vision forward.  “Wendy brings creativity, discipline and a business mindset to our organization, and we will benefit greatly from it, “says board President Clay Gantz.
