Sonoma, California | November 7, 2016: WINE WOMEN, a new, 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional trade organization focused on advancing women’s careers in the wine industry by fostering and nurturing talent, providing networking and training opportunities, as well as advocating for better opportunities for women in this industry, will host its first fundraiser “Walking in a Wine Women Wonderland!” on Wednesday, December 7th, at DeLoach Vineyards in Santa Rosa, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Not only will major event sponsor Boisset Collection’s gold-medal winning wines from the 2016 International Women’s Wine Competition be poured in a walk around “wonderland” tasting, but the wines from the competition’s other winners will also be featured.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Wine Women is celebrating its first year by bringing it back full circle: Their launch last summer featured a joint event at DeLoach Vineyards with the women judges of the 2016 International Women’s Wine Competition. Now guests will be able to sample some of the competition’s winning wines at this year-end fundraising event.

Guests are encouraged to dress in celebratory winter white while tasting wines through DeLoach’s barrel and cask rooms, and enjoy bidding on auction items. The auction will feature lots for winemaker dinners, verticals, library selections, getaways, gift certificates and more. Net proceeds benefit the Wine Women Scholarship Fund. Scholarships will be awarded in 2017 to deserving students enrolled in local wine and enology degree programs.

In addition to the auction, guests may get a jump start on holiday shopping: Wine-related retail product vendors, along with gourmet culinary goods-specially curated for the event from the Atelier by JCB in Yountville and the JCB Tasting Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, SF will be available for purchase. Epicurean offerings may include elegantly presented collections sourced locally in Napa and Sonoma alongside discoveries from the best international producers from France, Italy, Spain and more, to include salts, peppers and spices; Fallot mustard from Burgundy, honey (sourced from estate beehives at Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley and DeLoach Vineyards in Sonoma), marmalade, dry pastas, Napa Valley locally-produced olive oils, Napa Valley vinegar, smoked salmon, California caviar, anchovies, truffles, foie gras, terrines, prosciutto, local and international cheeses, dry crackers, chips, sparkling waters, juices, and specialty teas from Mariage Freres.

Tickets are available at a variety of levels, with discounts offered for couples and group ticket purchases. A special V.I.P. ticket is available for a private party with host Jean-Charles Boisset ahead of the fundraiser’s opening at the winery featuring JCB sparkling wine. Advance ticket purchase is required. Details and tickets ($55-$250) at: https://walking-in-wine-women-wonderland.eventbrite.com/
