wine-tourism-awardsThe first Annual Wine Tourism Awards, now open for entry, have today completed the announcement of their 2017 jury president. “Having an entrepreneur as the president of the jury speaks volumes about our dedication to grasping the full depth of our entrants’ applications” says Chris Martin, VP of Operations.

Mr. Magny is a wine tourism industry expert. In 2004, he founded pioneering O Chateau in Paris. Since then, he’s authored 3 books, co-founded Les Caves du Louvre and was a guest speaker for institutions ranging from Duke University to Vinisud. He was also the host of Wine Travel TV shows for the Canal + Group and The Travel Channel.

“Wine professionals respect his integrity, his achievements and his vision” says Martin. When asked why he accepted, Magny responds: “It is a formidable honor. I’m passionate about this industry. I know it inside and out: I can relate to the challenges, the risks, the small details. I know that every application will resonate deeply and I’m humbled to have the opportunity to honor people who do a good job at bringing people joy.” Another key aspect that led to the appointment of Olivier Magny as president is how international his profile is. “It is true: I have started businesses in France, I have lived in Latin America, I have spoken at various festivals in Australia and my wife is from the US… So I probably do tick the international box”.
