NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – October 24, 2016 – Clos Du Val is happy to announce the appointment of Armen Khachaturian to the position of director of national sales, and Katy Curry to the role of sales manager – Southeast. As director of national sales, Khachaturian joins an experienced team that includes President and CEO Steve Tamburelli, Director of Operations Jon-Mark Chappellet and Winemaker Ted Henry in guiding the future of the iconic Napa Valley winery.

Khachaturian will oversee the winery’s in-house sales team as it introduces a new all-estate portfolio of wines to the market, with a focus on the Stags Leap District Cabernets that originally catapulted Clos Du Val to fame. A skilled wine industry executive with more than 15 years of experience, Khachaturian spent the early part of his career at Fritz Winery, Landmark Vineyards and Henry Wine Group. More recently, Khachaturian held positions as the director of national sales for Hanzell Vineyards, and at Ehlers Estate, where he increased sales by more than 230% over a five-year period.

Curry began her wine career in Colorado, where she worked as a sales manager for Baroness Wines, Republic National Distributing Company and Enotec Imports. More recently, Curry was the Southwest regional manager for New York distributor Frederick Wildman & Sons, and the central regional manager for Napa Valley-based Locations Wines, where she maintained the #1 region in the country. At Clos Du Val, Curry will be responsible for managing the sales program in seventeen states, including Texas and Florida.

“Armen and Katy bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team,” says Tamburelli. “They also understand that this is a very exciting time for Clos Du Val, with sweeping changes that include new vineyard practices, a complete renovation of our winery, and a transition to exclusively making estate-grown wines. Because of these changes, and many others, we are making the finest wines in our long history, which is a story Armen and Katy are excited to begin sharing.”

About Clos Du Val

In 1972, Clos Du Val acquired 150 acres of estate vineyards in the heart of the Stags Leap District, and made its first wines, including Clos Du Val’s legendary debut 1972 Cabernet Sauvignon—one of only six California Cabernets selected for the famous 1976 Judgment of Paris Tasting. Today, Clos Du Val’s acclaimed estate program has evolved to include an additional 180 acres in Carneros, and an 18-acre vineyard in Yountville. From this diverse palette of estate fruit, which includes 30 distinct blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, Clos Du Val makes elegantly structured wines notable for their balance, complexity and vivid fruit.
