Building on a Successful First Year, 2016’s Promotion Promises to be Bigger and Better

Napa Valley VintnersNew York, NY September 19, 2016 – The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV), a nonprofit wine trade association, announces its ‘Somms & Sliders’ promotion will take place October 21 through November 4, 2016 in New York City.  Somms & Sliders brings together Napa Valley wines and burger pairings at top fine dining and high-end casual restaurants, steakhouses, wine bars and craft burger chains.

After a successful first year in 2015 with 18 participating restaurants, NVV is expanding Somms & Sliders, teaming up with some of New York’s finest sommeliers and chefs to create the ultimate burger pairing experience for food and wine lovers. At each restaurant, the sommelier will select a Napa Valley wine, while the chef will create a gourmet burger recipe that highlights the wine’s unique characters.

“Last year’s Somms & Sliders was a great success and we are proud to have been a part of its inaugural year,” says Laura Maniec, Master Sommelier and co-founder of Corkbuzz Restaurant and Wine Bar. “It’s a fun way to bring together Napa Valley’s high quality wines and New York’s exciting culinary scene.”

To support the promotion, NVV has selected Colangelo & Partners, an integrated communications agency that specializes in the food and beverage industry, as its partner to execute a fully cohesive media relations, events, digital marketing and advertising program aimed at trade, press and consumers in the Metro New York area.

NVV will announce the full list of Somms & Sliders participating restaurants and burger pairings in September. Follow the 2016 Somms & Sliders promotion on Facebook at Facebook.com/NapaVintners, Twitter at @NapaVintners and Instagram at @NapaVintners.
