Portfolio to Feature Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Wines Crafted by Winemaker Philippe Melka
NAPA VALLEY, Calif. (August 13, 2016) – International vintner Alejandro P. Bulgheroni today announced the acquisition and plans for the renovation of his new winery, Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate, located at 500 Meadowood Lane in Saint Helena. The winery formerly served as the Founders Room for the wine portfolio of H. William Harlan and produced the first vintages of The Napa Valley Reserve. The enhancement project will include updates to both the winemaking and hospitality facilities. Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate will produce small lot Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the estate and select sites within the Napa Valley. Winemaking operations are led by renowned winemaker Philippe Melka and blended with consulting enologist Michel Rolland.
The inaugural release of Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate wines – the 2014 vintage – will coincide with the winery’s opening, projected to open in February 2017.
“It has long been my goal to establish a winery here in Napa Valley,” said Bulgheroni. “The remarkable lithology of the rocky hillsides, diverse microclimates, and unique topography make it the ideal location to make a classic Cabernet Sauvignon. I’m very pleased to be a part of the Napa Valley wine community, and I look forward to working with the valley’s best growers to craft unique wines of great personality.”
In keeping with Bugheroni’s agricultural values, the Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate vineyard is farmed sustainably and is certified organic by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). Bulgheroni recently celebrated the grand opening of Bodega Garzón Winery in Uruguay, the first LEED-certified winery in South America.
