Christopher OGormanHEALDSBURG, California (June 30, 2016) – Rodney Strong Wine Estates has announced that Christopher O’Gorman has been named Director of Communications for their Sonoma County winery. O’Gorman will manage the communication team, which oversees internal and external communications, social media, and wine education. “I am very excited to welcome Chris aboard as the newest member of our very talented team,” states Rodney Strong Wine Estates President Carmen Castaldi. “Chris will play a key role in how we communicate about growing our
luxury business, and our continued mission to craft world class wines from the greatest wine growing region in the world – Sonoma County.”

Raised in Healdsburg, O’Gorman is a Sonoma County native and he brings over 15 years of wine business experience to the position. Following graduation from U.C. Berkeley and a stint as a sports and politics writer, O’Gorman began his wine career in sales at Scott Street Portfolio, which imported boutique Southern Hemisphere wines with a focus on terroir. In 2002, O’Gorman joined the public relations team at E. & J. Gallo based at their Healdsburg winery, and in 2007 he left for Merryvale Vineyards in the Napa Valley, where he served for seven years as Director of Communications. O’Gorman joined Paul Hobbs Wines in 2013 to assist with Paul’s various projects domestically and abroad.

O’Gorman has been judging wine professionally for the past twelve years at some of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, including San Francisco Chronicle, Finger Lakes International, and Bacchus of Spain. “I am honored and privileged to be joining Rodney Strong Wine Estates, a brand that I have admired for many years with amazing wines and a true passion for Sonoma County farming,” states O’Gorman.
