TUALATIN, Ore. – May 1, 2016 – Oregon-based Union Wine Company has announced that Rick Durette will join the growing company as vice president of global sales. A 30-year veteran of the wine industry, Durette will oversee all domestic and international sales for Union’s portfolio of brands. Durette will lead Union’s team of three regional domestic sales managers and one export sales manager to further enhance and expand strategic sales efforts for Union.
“Bringing Rick onboard to lead our already strong sales team is a significant development for us at Union,” said Union Wine Company Owner Ryan Harms. “I’m excited to see how Rick will use his expertise to contribute to our continued growth.”
Prior to joining Union, Durette served as senior vice president of global sales at King Estate Winery, where he managed sales for the Oregon brand in 21 countries. Prior to that, he was west coast division manager at Boisset Family Estates and held other sales leadership roles at Wilson Daniels, Artisan Brands, Regal Wine Company and Young’s Market Company.
“I’m honored to join the tight knit operation at Union Wine Co. during what is an exciting time of growth for the company and their brands,” said Durette. “I look forward to bringing the Underwood, Kings Ridge and Alchemist labels to new markets, as well as expanding distribution in existing markets.”
Durette holds a Level One Certificate with the Court of Master Sommeliers and a degree in Business Administration from Mesa College. He lives in Oceanside, Calif., with his wife Carol and three children. He will remain based in Oceanside, with frequent visits to the winery in Oregon, as well as frequent travel to Union’s distribution markets. In his free time Durette loves to surf, golf, mountain bike and of course, enjoy wine.
