Hospitality Marketing Leader Announces the Formation of Wagstaff Digital and Flapjack

Wagstaff Worldwide(LOS ANGELES; April 29, 2016)—Wagstaff Worldwide, the leader in travel and hospitality marketing, formally announces the establishment of Wagstaff Digital – the agency’s digital marketing department – and Flapjack, a food entertainment production company working in partnership with Wagstaff Digital. The move is part of Wagstaff Worldwide’s ongoing effort to identify today’s most cutting-edge marketing opportunities for exceptional hospitality businesses. Wagstaff Digital combines the agency’s already existing Social Media, Creative, Web Design and additional digital marketing services into one department led by Wagstaff Worldwide Vice President & Creative Director David Spiegelman. Wagstaff Digital and Flapjack will share resources to develop projects across all media platforms to further enhance the agency’s current public relations offering for internationally resonant chefs, restaurants, hotels, and destinations, as well as wine, spirits, and beer brands.

Wagstaff Digital

Since 2015, Wagstaff Worldwide has been quietly developing integrated digital marketing programs for clients such as Marriott Hotels, Asahi Beer, and the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival.  Led by David Spiegelman, Wagstaff Digital is comprised of an experienced team of 10 digitally-minded associates from primarily entertainment and hospitality backgrounds.  The team focuses on social media, influencer engagement, website design, branding, digital marketing, and content creation.

A Wagstaff Worldwide team member since 2014, Spiegelman spent more than 10 years creating unique content at companies including Vin Di Bona Productions, Fishbowl Worldwide Media, Disney, and Universal Pictures. Additionally, Spiegelman has overseen forward-thinking digital media campaigns for the entertainment industry and has been involved in the maturation of the “social influencer” through his work with YouTube celebrities and digital native brands. He has spearheaded the development and production of several digital projects and social media campaigns for portals such as Food Network, Universal, Discovery Digital, and YouTube. Since joining Wagstaff Worldwide, he has taken the company’s Social Media, Creative, and Web Design teams and brought them together to develop integrated digital marketing programs for hotels, restaurants and food and beverage companies.

Flapjack – A Food Entertainment Production Company

In direct partnership with Wagstaff Digital, Flapjack will create and produce original, extraordinary and impactful food entertainment with the world’s great culinary personalities. Founded in 2015 with a slate of more than 15 projects already in development, Flapjack is creating compelling food content with talents like Chef Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections in Los Angeles and Yigit Pura of Tout Sweet in San Francisco and Palo Alto. Flapjack is co-founded and co-owned by Mary Wagstaff and Jordan Feagan. Feagan serves as president and Rick Ryba serves as chief financial officer. Spiegelman serves as a consulting partner.
Feagan brings more than 25 years of experience in entertainment representing and producing content for sports and TV talent as well as international sports brands. Since 1991, he has successfully co-founded and launched the athlete management companies SLAM and Alliance Sports; Hollywood’s one-stop sports production shop Sports Studio; and side-by-side with Flapjack, his current multi-platform production banner, Rowdy Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Ryba is an experienced finance executive and strategist with over 10 years of experience in entertainment and technology. Ryba joined Flapjack at its inception following a successful stint as CFO of Go Go Luckey Entertainment, which culminated in the unscripted and digital production company’s merger with Eclipse Television. He has advised a variety of digital and clean-tech startups, and has represented global brands such as 3M, Siemens and Honeywell since beginning his career with United Talent Agency.
