Barrel Tasting and Futures Release Party at Castello di Amorosa

Castello di AmorosaCALISTOGA, Calif. (April 2016) – Castello di Amorosa is opening its cellars for its annual Grand Barrel Party on May 7, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Set in the Castello’s underground Roman cross-vaulted grand barrel room, the evening includes tasting the Castello’s elegant wines directly from barrels, served by the Castello’s winemakers.

Wine Club Members and guests will enjoy sampling many of the Castello’s wines, including an exclusive selection of 2014 and 2015 vintage single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons and 2015 Pinot Noir wines from the barrel.

“We have been fortunate with extremely high quality harvests over the past several years in Napa Valley, and 2014 is no exception,” says Director of Winemaking Brooks Painter, who recently received the Winemaker of the Year award from The American Fine Wine Competition.  “This will be the last opportunity to taste a selection of our 2014 single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons and 2015 Pinot Noirs before they are bottled,” he added

The Castello’s Wine Club members and guests will enjoy a wide variety of activities throughout the evening, including a “guess the wine” blind tasting station, barrel making demonstrations by Nadalie Cooperage and “Death By Chocolate” by Le Belge Chocolatiers in the Castello’s eerily appointed Torture Chamber. Live music from The Ely Brothers and The Doubletake Band will get the dance floor hopping with their 1950s rockabilly hits. Italian dishes created by Oak Avenue Catering will complement the wide variety of wines.

Cost is $95 for Wine Club members and $115 for guests. This includes all wine, food and entertainment as well as the complimentary shuttles to downtown Calistoga. Contact the Castello’s Wine Club department at 707.967.6274 or visit www.castellodiamorosa.com for tickets and additional information.

About Castello di Amorosa: Following fourteen years of construction, Dario Sattui opened Castello di Amorosa in April of 2007.  Situated in the hills south of Calistoga, Castello di Amorosa – a family-owned business – produces world-class wines including popular white and red wines as well as proprietary Italian-inspired blends, including Il Barone, La Castellana and Il Passito. Wines are sold only at the winery.  The castle winery was constructed with brick, wood and iron imported from Europe and combined with over 8,000 tons of local Napa Valley stone.  Today, Castello di Amorosa, a popular Napa Valley destination, offers a variety of wine tastings and winery tours in a unique Tuscan castle setting.
