Scott LloydSt. Helena, Napa Valley, April 2016—-Scott Lloyd joins Salvestrin Winery as General Manager, in an announcement made by Rich and Shannon Salvestrin, the winery’s owners. “Scott will lead all of our sales and marketing efforts, including direct to consumer. He will be an integral part of our plans to expand our reach at the winery and abroad,” they said.

The placement was made by The Cypress Group of St. Helena, California. The Cypress Group specializes in executive placements in the wine industry.

Lloyd was previously at Frank Family Vineyards where he was Vice President of National Sales for 12 years.  Scott has a Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters in Wine Business Administration from Sonoma State University. Scott was raised in the Napa Valley and resides there with his wife and two children. “Salvestrin Winery is a true family affair with family members involved in every aspect of the business. Visitors enjoy a warm and friendly experience on the 156 year old property where Rich sustainably farms the vineyard and crafts exceptional wines, while his wife Shannon personally interacts with visitors.  I am very excited to join the team as we expand the winery’s reach, growing new customer relationships across the U.S. and abroad,” Lloyd remarks.

Salvestrin Estate Vineyard was established in 1932 and is in its third generation of family ownership. In 1994 Rich and Shannon Salvestrin brought the farming operation full circle by founding Salvestrin Winery.  Situated on a historic vineyard originally planted by Dr. George Crane in 1860, the Salvestrin property encompasses not only the vineyard and winery, but also family gardens and The Salvestrin Inn where wine club members can stay overnight in the Victorian house that was built by Dr. Crane. The tasting room looks out over the estate and is open by appointment only. Salvestrin produces limited quantities of estate grown and bottled wines which are farmed to organic standards. The current releases are 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 Retaggio (an Italian proprietary blend), 2014 Sangiovese, 2014 Petite Sirah and the winery’s two Cabernet Sauvignons— 2012 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2012 3D Cabernet Sauvignon, Dr. Crane Vineyard (made in honor of the fourth generation).
