Newly Rebranded Pinot House Aims to Define Wines of a Place
WALT Wines, one of the leading Pinot Noir producers in Sonoma County, has announced the date for its annual Big Pinot Release Party set for Saturday, April 9th at its newly renovated Sonoma Plaza Tasting Room. The event takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“We are excited to showcase a fresh, contemporary, and honest look to reflect the style of our wine at The Big Pinot Release this year,” says Vintner Kathryn Walt Hall. “Guests get to understand our single vineyard emphasis when they get to taste through the current flight and learn about wines of a distinct place.”
Guest attending the event will get to enjoy a tasting flight from the 2014 WALT vintage portfolio including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. This is the only opportunity each year to be able to access the full flight of current releases. Small bites will be catered by Sonoma’s eatery, The Girl & The Fig. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to participate in a blind tasting experience in WALT’s charming backyard adorned with a historic Redwood tree.
In February, the WALT Tasting Room was revamped to include modern décor that is reflective of the contemporary brand. The 2014 vintage includes fresh new labels while the wine retains the signature style that has solidified WALT’s positioning within the competitive Pinot Noir world.
WALT is dedicated to producing wines of a place, specifically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. Since its debut vintage in 2010, WALT has earned 80 critical ratings of 90 points and above. WALT celebrates distinct single vineyard wines from the best possible sites from as far north as the Willamette Valley, to Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, the Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara and wonderful vineyard site in-between. The WALT winemakers create bold, flavorful wines true to the terroir of their vines.
