In anticipation of the 2016 “TASTE OF ITALY” to be held March 2nd and 3rd in Houston, Texas (http://www.tasteofitalyhouston.menu/), Solaro Group’s Urban Winery and Event facility in Houston, hosted a packed house for the first non-private tastings of the wines of Piacentini, Emilia Romagna, Italy.

Highlights of the evening were a live concert by Nashville-Austin Singer-Songwriter Tracie Lynn and the Chef’s selection of Texas style meats with Asian fusion.

The Guest List included Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas, Business Development Representative, Maurizio Gamberucci and others.

The event presented the premier brands of Romagnoli, Il Poggiarello, Perini & Perini, Gianelli di Maris, and Costabinelli.  The featured wine of the evening was Il Poggiarello, DOC, Colli Piacentini-Gutturnio.

The impressive wine portfolio included: Spumante Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Ortrugo, Pinot Nero and Barbera.

“Every Wine Ambassador would like to represent authentic Italian wines.  The carefully produced wines presented this evening allow bold-thinking Beverage Directors superior wines not available at the retail level which promotes a restaurant’s reputation and wine-respectability. Beverage Directors at the top of their game are reaching out to us for these wines”, says Wine Ambassador, Daniel Dillon.

In 2015, Wine Industry Network Advisor published Solaro Urban Winery’s construction of its’ production facility which boasts a  4000 sq. ft. tasting space, vaulted ceilings, glass wine cellar, conference area and  courtyards as “trend-setting” for wineries in the metropolitan environment.

“At this time last year the facility was not completed, says Solaro CEO, Barbara Haderlein.  During construction, our dream was to host wine events like this one and tonight we have seen that dream come true.”

For more information and to be involved in the encore tastings scheduled throughout the US in 2016, previously reported by Wine Industry Advisor, please contact Daniel Dillon at info@solaroestate.com.
