Covenant, the only urban kosher winery in America, has hired its first General Manager, Sagie Kleinlerer, to manage sales, marketing and expansion at the winery, which now has markets throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, Israel and Australia. Founded in 2003 by partners Leslie Rudd and Jeff Morgan, Covenant has doubled its production in the last three years, built a 7,000-square foot winery in downtown Berkeley, CA, and also recently released its first wine from Israel—Covenant Israel. Kleinlerer, a lawyer by training, worked at Larkmead Vineyard in Napa Valley prior to coming to Covenant. He is Israeli/American and will also assist in the winery’s ongoing projects in Israel. www.covenantwines.com
