Just in Time for the Holidays, Napa winery releases 2012 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon

Mira WineryCharleston, S.C. (Dec. 10, 2015) – Napa Valley’s Mira Winery has just released its historic first vintage of the winery’s 2012 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon.  The wine received an overwhelming pre-release response from throughout the wine world, including professionals in New York, Miami and San Francisco, who all described the wine as beautifully balanced, displaying elegance paired with the fruit forwardness expected of a Napa Cabernet.

The consensus is this vintage is drinking well today and is perfect for cellaring over the next 15–20 years.  Although consistently advised the winery was not charging enough for a wine of this caliber, Mira has held firm on its introductory price of $95 per bottle, just in time for the holidays.

“We are humbled by the response to our 2012 Stags Leap Cabernet,” says Mira Proprietor Jim “Bear” Dyke, Jr. “With industry insiders consistently describing this newest release in our Collectors Series as a wine with all the characteristics of a Napa Valley cult Cabernet, we are excited finally to be sharing this beautiful wine with our customers.”

The 2012 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from 100 percent Cabernet grapes grown in the esteemed Stags Leap District AVA in Napa. Barrel fermented in small oak tanks, and aged in 100% new French oak for 26 months, the deep dark fruit characteristics of this wine exemplifies why Stags Leap is known for producing Cabernet Sauvignon with both power and elegance.

In the true spirit of the holidays, Mira is offering a gift set that includes this special selection. The two-bottle Diamond Holiday Set is sure to please the most discerning oenophile on anyone’s list, or anyone else who appreciates a perfectly balanced wine ($145, ground shipping included).  Containing wine from two jewels of Napa Valley, Los Carneros and Stags Leap, this set also includes a bottle of Mira’s 2013 Hyde Pinot Noir (released earlier this fall) packaged together with the Cabernet in an attractive holiday box.
