Americans for the Arts honors “Napa Valley Arts in April” with marketing award

Legendary Napa ValleyOctober 15, 2015, Napa Valley, CA – Arts Council Napa Valley (ACNV) in partnership with Visit Napa Valley (VNV) have been awarded the 2015 Arts Destination Marketing Award for Napa Valley Arts in April 2015, the annual month-long celebration that hosts over 60 arts events throughout the county.

Americans for the Arts, in partnership with the Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), honors the synergistic relationship and outstanding cooperative efforts between a Local Arts Agency and its Destination Marketing Organization in two communities across America with the Arts Destination Marketing Award.

“Arts Council Napa Valley was carefully selected for playing a critical role in augmenting Napa Valley’s brand by weaving the community’s arts and cultural story into its overall message. Through years of dedication and hard work, Arts Council Napa Valley has officially made its mark on the map as a great American destination where community, arts, and culture, are thriving” said Americans for the Arts.

When asked about what is key to Arts in April’s success, Danielle Smith (the program’s Producer) said, “Arts in April is a very unique festival in that anyone who wants to be a part of it can join in the fun. This radical inclusiveness creates a program of beautifully diverse events: from blue chip visual art at a place like HALL to homegrown art events like the “Beatnik BBQ,” Arts in April offers everyone a place at the table. To be recognized nationally for this event is a testament to the unique cultural makeup of the valley itself, and we will continue the celebration as Arts in April grows and evolves.”

Since 2010, Visit Napa Valley and Arts Council Napa Valley have partnered to produce Arts in April, a month long celebration of the arts in the Napa Valley. With wineries, businesses, venues, organizations and artists participating throughout Napa Valley, the program brings awareness to locals and visitors of the unique and vibrant arts scene Napa has to offer.

Olivia Everett, CEO of Arts Council Napa Valley, will accept the award on behalf of the program this November at the 2015 National Arts Marketing Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“I am honored to be accepting this award – for all the event partners as well as the entire Arts in April team.  While our name will be on the award, it is really the creativity, passion and collaboration of the hundreds of artists and independent event producers that make this program so special and their work which has brought this national recognition,” said Everett.
