Napa County Assessor John Tuteur to Speak at Women for WineSense’s Roundtable Meeting to Be Held at Coughlan Napa CPA Co.

Women for Winesense 25Napa County Assessor John Tuteur will lead a discussion of the Napa|Sonoma Women for WineSense Finance/Accounting Roundtable II meeting on the effects of the Williamson Act and vineyard valuation, on Thursday, October 22, 2015, starting at noon at Coughlan Napa CPA Company in downtown Napa.  Lunch at Uva Trattoria after the meeting is optional for attendees.

This Women for WineSense (WWS) roundtable discussion is open to any finance/accounting professional who wishes to attend. Bring friends and colleagues. Exchange business cards with other colleagues in the wine and hospitality industries and in local area businesses. Tuteur’s discussion will focus upon the effects of the Williamson Act for wineries and vineyard owners as the act provides for with regard to reduced property taxation on qualifying agricultural land.

The Napa|Sonoma WWS Finance/Accounting Roundtable II meets quarterly. Details can be found on their roundtable webpage.  Meeting dates are noted in the WWS Napa|Sonoma Events Calendar as well.

WWS’ nine current roundtables serve to provide a safe and confidential environment to meet in small peer groups on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis. According to WWS’ Professional Development Director Jackie Egidio, “Our members network, provide advice and support for one another, as well as foster educational occasions by inviting guest speakers in their fields and discussing ‘hot issues’ facing members in their day-to-day work.” She added, “Multiple Roundtables have developed for our members in finance, accounting and human resources fields in the wine industry. We also have roundtables in winemaking, marketing and direct-to-consumer fields.”

The chapter has several upcoming events open to the public, including an upcoming meetup this Thursday, October 15th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at Flora Springs – The Room in St. Helena, Calif., “Beyond the Cookie Cutter D2C Barrel, Vine and Wine Clubs,” a lecture at St. Francis Winery in Santa Rosa, Calif. on October 21st, from 10:30 a.m. to Noon, with guest speaker Theresa Dorr, CMO of Active Consulting. On November 3rd, Sandra Hess, Founder of DTC Wine Workshops, will present “The Do’s and Don’ts of Direct to Consumer Wine Sales,” at Merryvale Vineyards in St. Helena at 9:30 a.m. to Noon.

Tickets for these lectures start at $10 for WWS members and $25 for non-members. The lectures are open to the public, but seating is highly limited.
